Elfre

Elfre is a feminine name that comes to be when Elfreda's -da ending disappears. Though few in letters, this moniker is rich in whimsy and wonder, as it carries the word "elf" within it! Tiny and often very mischievious, elves have been the cause of trouble (and magical events) in countless folk and fairy tales. These creatures aren't to be underestimated, however, and Elfre's meaning is proof of that. Deriving from the Old English title Ælfþryð, Elfre means "elf strength," reminding your little one that though they may not be able to see it or feel it, magic is always in the air.
