Lorry

Beginning its journey as a cute nickname for Laurence, Lorry has grown into a fully fledged gender-neutral name of its own. Latin in origin, Lorry and Laurence both derive from Laurentius, carrying the meaning "from Laurentum" through the ages. Laurentum is the name of an ancient Roman settlement that no longer exists, giving Lorry subtle undertones of a city lost to time. It's likely this place had lots of laurel trees, due to its name stemming from the Latin laurus, meaning "laurel."
