Lysandra

Lysandra is a feminine name of Greek origin that's perfect for a hero in the making. A variation of the Greek Lysander and Lysandros, Lysandra stems from the roots lysis, meaning "loosening," and andros, meaning "man," which come together to mean "liberator."  No wonder author Sarah J. Maas chose this name for one of her characters in the popular fantasy series Throne of Glass. As the Lady of Caraverre, Lysandra is a cunning shapeshifter who grows into a brave and loyal friend despite starting as a bit of a pest. She even takes a small girl, Evangeline, under her wing and sets out to build a better world for her.
