Rikia

Rikia is an exciting feminine moniker with roots in various cultures, from northern Europe to several Islander tribes. The root riki appears in Old Norse and Icelandic, meaning "kingdom" and "ruler." Rikia Magha, a Moroccan singer, carries this name in Arabic, adding yet another cultural tie to the melting pot. Rikia, however, is prominently found among the hereditary nobility of Easter Island, Cooks Island, and the Māori tribal lands. The Ariki held the highest rank in society and ruled over political and religious matters, with kings and queens carrying the title Te Arikinui. As a name, Rikia means "island ruler," and we reckon it pays a fine tribute to its vast linguistic history!
