If your bundle of joy arrived on the second day of the week, then maybe the most obvious choice is the best one. Tuesday is a feminine moniker deriving from the Old English term tiwesdæg, signifying “Tiw’s day.” Tiw can be traced back to Tyr, the Norse god of war and justice. Tuesday is also associated with Mars, with French and Spanish still keeping the link between the day and the planet—mardi and martes. In the popular nursery rhyme “Monday’s Child,” which is supposed to predict baby’s future, it is said, “Tuesday’s child is full of grace.” Never let baby forget when they were born with the name Tuesday.
