New moms are no strangers to just how exhausting welcoming a baby into the world can be. While those initial days are filled with immense joy, they can also be filled with a lot of sleepless nights, early mornings and stained clothing. New mom Amy Duggar King is currently experiencing all of the above—is taking to social media to show what real mom life looks like.

Yesterday, she posted a photo of herself and her infant son, Daxton Ryan, on Instagram. The image shows Duggar King dressed in a purple robe and holding a cup of tea. She appears to be resting while breastfeeding her son. In the caption for the image she wrote, “Pretty poses, makeup and photoshoots are great but it’s not real. Life isn’t perfect and I don’t want the people who follow me to think that! So this is the real me, in real time living my best life! Hot tea in hand, ice water leaned up against me, half dressed and completely worn out! Mom thanks for the snapshot of me catching some [zzz’s]!”

In the past month, Duggar King has talked candidly on Instagram about being a new mom and given updates to her followers on how she’s recovering. Earlier this week, she posted an image from a recent family photoshoot, joking about being in hibernation. “We came out of hibernation for our first family photoshoot!! Sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately…actually to be honest I’m not really that sorry!!” she wrote in the caption. “I’m a new mama and I am just soaking it all in! His smiles, running on 2 hours of sleep, the late night diaper changes, early morning feedings and just how perfect he is! Everything else can just wait…for a little while longer, until then I’ll be over just loving on this lil guy.”

Followers are loving her honesty about mom-life. One woman commented, “The beautiful chaos and exhaustion that is motherhood. I’m so happy for you Amy!” Another person wrote, “It’s refreshing to see a new mom take on this attitude of not having to be perfect. My 4th is on the way and I remember having this [idea] of what the first baby should’ve been like. Embrace these moments, one day they may be the easy moments in life. You’re killing this mom thing! You don’t need the pretty poses and make up and photo shoots. This is true beauty and you momma are stunning.”

Duggar King gave birth to Daxton on October 9 via a scheduled c-section.
