Baby Shark is a hit with kids everywhere, and now its creator PinkFong is doing its part to help teach your kids how to practice proper personal hygiene—from handwashing to covering your coughs and sneezes. The coronavirus-inspired version of the hit song is titled, “Wash Your Hands,” and we have to admit, it’s pretty fantastic. (Apologies in advance, parents!)

The video, which was released on March 21, already has over 4 million views and 31,000 likes. The song, which follows the same tune as Baby Shark, repeats step-by-step lyrics to help kids remember how to wash their hands. At one point the animated shark sings, “Grab some soap, doo doo doo doo doo” and then “rub your hands, doo doo doo doo doo” followed by “rinse your hands, doo doo doo doo doo.”

After the song runs through how to wash your hands, it moves on to other ways to prevent from spreading germs, such as covering your sneeze (doo doo doo doo doo) and coughing into your elbow (doo doo doo doo doo).

Baby Shark became a hit in the U.S. a little over a year ago and has been the inspiration for kids’ shows, cereal and even bathtub toys since. While the song may drive you crazy, it’s undoubtedly a great way to help your little one memorize the key aspects of staying safe and healthy in the COVID-19 era (and during the regular cold and flu season). So, press play and have that glass of wine/hiding place ready if you need it!
