Jasmine Tookes on Pregnancy Rituals, Stretch Marks and The Power of Motherhood
Jasmine Tookes is no stranger to redefining strength and beauty. After making a showstopping, headline-making appearance opening the Victoria’s Secret runway glowing at nine months pregnant, the supermodel and soon-to-be mom of two continues to champion women through one of life’s most transformative seasons.
Now, she’s channeling that energy into her new Brunel x Bumpsuit collaboration—a thoughtful blend of celebrity-loved supportive silhouettes and nourishing body care designed to help women feel grounded, soothed and celebrated from bump to postpartum and beyond. Just ahead of welcoming her baby boy, The Bump sat down with Jasmine to talk about her daily rituals, embracing changing bodies and the self-care secrets behind that iconic runway moment.
The Bump: Your opening of the Victoria’s Secret fashion show was inspiring for moms-to-be everywhere. What do you hope moms-to-be take away from your walk?
Jasmine Tookes: I hope every mom-to-be watching felt seen and reminded of how powerful our bodies are. Walking that runway pregnant, in heels, at nine months, was emotional. It was also proof that motherhood does not dim your light. It can make it shine even brighter. I want women to know that you do not have to set aside your dreams because you are expecting. Strength and softness can exist at the same time, and both are beautiful.
TB: Your bump during the show was glowing. What is your at-home routine? Any advice for stretch marks?
JT: At home I keep things simple and consistent. Morning and night I massage my full body with Renewal Body Oil on slightly damp skin to lock in moisture. I take that minute to breathe and connect with the baby. For stretch marks, I believe it is about care and also grace. Hydration, gentle oils, water, and movement help. But our bodies are stretching out of love. Whether you get marks or not, your skin is doing something incredible.
TB: Did you worry about how motherhood might shift your career or identity in such a visual industry? How has that changed from your first pregnancy to now?
JT: During my first pregnancy I wondered how I would work my way back into the industry. Motherhood changes you and I was not sure how the industry would respond. Now I feel the opposite. Motherhood has made me more confident, more grounded, and more clear about what I want to give my energy to. I have not lost any part of myself. I have grown into a new version of me.
TB: What rituals, products or practices make you feel beautiful during pregnancy and postpartum?
JT: Hydration and scent play a big role for me. I start and end my day with Brunel body oil. It is grounding. I love dry brushing, warm baths with magnesium salts, and wearing soft pieces that make me feel held, like Bumpsuit. But the most important ritual is giving myself permission to slow down.
TB: Your Bumpsuit x Brunel partnership is about nurturing women inside and out. How do you hope moms use the kits?
JT: I wanted the kit to feel like a love letter to women in this season of life. Bumpsuit holds and supports you. Brunel nurtures your skin and your mind. My hope is that moms use it as a small ritual. Slip into something soft, apply your oil, take a deep breath, and remember that caring for yourself is part of caring for your baby.
TB: What are some of your favorite pieces from the shoot? What would you recommend to moms trying both brands for the first time?
JT: Thank you. I am a huge fan of the Bumpsuit cloud pajamas because they feel so soft but also look so nice on. I’ve also been living in all of the Bumpsuit dresses, they sculpt the belly so well while keeping you chic and ultra comfortable.
TB: Pregnancy does not feel magical for everyone. What would you say to moms who feel like the picture-perfect experience online is out of reach?
JT: I understand completely. What you see online is a highlight, not every moment. There are swollen days, back pain and doubt. Beauty in pregnancy is not about perfection. It is about presence. Even if you do not feel glowing, you are creating life and that is sacred. My advice is to find one simple ritual that makes you feel like yourself. Oil your belly in silence, light a candle, wear something comfortable. It does not have to be perfect to be beautiful.
TB: What has been the most beautiful part of this pregnancy, and what has been so hard you just had to laugh?
JT: The most beautiful part has been feeling his little kicks while my daughter rests her head on my belly. It feels like they are already connected. The hard part is the exhaustion and pregnancy brain. I will put my phone in the refrigerator or forget what I was doing. At this point you just have to laugh.
TB: The last weeks before baby can be exhausting. What advice do you have for moms who struggle to rest?
JT: Rest is a form of strength. It can be hard to slow down when you are still working or nesting, but your body is doing so much. Accept help, let go of perfection and create small evening rituals. Give yourself permission to stop and breathe.
TB: What are you most looking forward to when your baby boy arrives, and what Bumpsuit and Brunel product will you reach for first?
JT: I cannot wait to see my daughter become a big sister and to hold him skin to skin for the first time. That moment is everything. After he arrives I will be wearing my Bumpsuit Postpartum Support piece and using Brunel Renewal Body Oil. It is soothing and perfect for healing skin.
