For nursing mothers, comfort can be a top priority, but safety always comes first. That’s why popular maternity apparel brand Kindred Bravely has chosen to recall more than 7,500 of its Bamboo Nursing Hoodies. Here’s what you need to know.

Why are Kindred Bravely’s Bamboo Nursing Hoodies being recalled?

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Kindred Bravely has decided to recall its Bamboo Nursing Hoodies due to faulty manufacturing of the drawcord around the hood of the sweatshirt. This cord features small plastic caps that could pop off and be swallowed by a nursing baby; posing a significant choking hazard.

While no complaints, injuries, or issues have been reported, out of an abundance of caution, the company has issued the recall and corrective action for the product.

How can I tell if my nursing hoodie is a part of the recall?

All Kindred Bravely Bamboo Nursing Hoodies purchased through December 2022 are impacted. If there are caps on the end of your hoodie’s drawcord, your hoodie is affected.

What should I do if my product is recalled?

Kindred Bravely asks parents who have purchased an affected product to stop using it even if their drawcord tips seem secure. If you choose to keep using the hoodie, Kindred Bravely has made a video showing how you can completely remove the drawstring and discard it.

Once you have removed your drawcord Kindred Bravely will provide customers a $75 store credit after you fill out an online form and provide a photo of the affected product. You can find the form at KindredBravely.com.
