For parents seeking relief for their teething babies, there are plenty of safe options—from teething toys to chilled washcloths. However, one choice is now off the table: Gerber’s edible teething sticks have been recalled and discontinued.

In partnership with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Gerber originally issued a nationwide recall of its Soothe ‘N’ Chew Teething Sticks (Banana and Strawberry flavors) back in January due to a choking hazard. The recall followed multiple reports of infants gagging or choking on the product, including at least one case that required emergency medical attention.

Now, months later, the FDA and Gerber are reissuing the alert after discovering that some stores may still be stocking the recalled items. The agency is urging retailers and parents alike to check shelves and pantries and immediately discard any remaining products.

All of the brand’s Soothe N Chew Teething sticks have been recalled, including:

  • GERBER® SOOTHE N CHEW® TEETHING STICKS – STRAWBERRY APPLE (Net Wt. 3.2 Oz / 90g), UPC: 0 15000 04618 7
  • GERBER® SOOTHE N CHEW® TEETHING STICKS – BANANA (Net Wt. 3.2 Oz / 90g), UPC: 0 15000 04608 8
  • GERBER® SOOTHE N CHEW® TEETHING STICKS – BANANA (Net Wt. 1.59 Oz / 45g), UPC: 0 15000 01015 7

Parents with Soothe N Chew sticks at home are advised to immediately throw them out. To request a refund, return the product packaging to the retailer where it was purchased. For further details or assistance, you can contact Gerber’s customer support through NestleUSA.com.
