If the words “potty training” put you into an instant state of unease, this one is for you.

Shona McLoughlin recently started going through the potty training motions with her little one, and she’s not taking any chances. Misery loves company, which is why the mom decided to share her silly secret to keeping her house clean throughout the stressful period.

“Am I doing it right,” she asks in her post.

Essentially, McLoughlin has turned her house into a potty-safe domain for her tiny tot. Leaving nothing to chance, the mom uses potty pads to cover her floors from wall to wall.

“I’ve no idea what I’m doing,” the mom jokingly writes.

The truth is, no one really has any idea what they’re doing when it comes to potty training. Of course you can try out a bunch of tips and tricks to make the transition easier, but little ones will learn at their own pace.

The post has already been shared more than 28,000 times, proving parents are all in this together. Many have even left comments on the post with notes of encouragement or their own silly anecdotes.

And no matter how much of a hard time your little one is giving you while you potty train, take comfort in knowing it can’t be as bad as this mom’s potty training war story.
