Whether it’s your child’s first word, first steps or first time trying cranberries (that video still makes us laugh), no parent wants to miss out on their child’s first milestones. But sometimes, with everything parents are juggling these days, it’s just not possible to be there for everything. And that’s something tennis pro Serena Williams recently learned the hard way.

While the world-class athlete was away training for Wimbledon, her 10-month-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., decided to take her first steps. When Williams found out what she’d missed, she took to Twitter to express her heartbreak.

“She took her first steps… I was training and missed it. I cried,” Williams tweeted this past weekend.

It’s completely understandable that Williams would be upset over not being there. Parents eagerly anticipate witnessing these “firsts,” and to then not be there when it happens can be crushing. Lucky for Williams, the Moms of Twitter were right there to offer their support.

In fact, a lot of women could relate to what Williams was going through.

Plenty of other followers assured Williams she’d get her chance to see her daughter get up and go—including fellow celebrity mom and Queen of Twitter Chrissy Teigen.

But the best part of the thread? Seeing so many women pipe up and support a fellow mama.

It is a thing of beauty, isn’t it?
