Are There Home Remedies for My Toddler’s Colds?

My poor little guy is sick so often — sniffles galore — and I tend to be partial to home remedies over OTC meds. Are there any home remedies for kids with colds?

Bulb syringes can ease his symptoms (until he’s able to blow his nose with a tissue — usually around age two). And many adult home remedies for the common cold can help relieve your toddler too: steam, keeping his head elevated, honey (now that’s he’s over a year old), fluids, and, most of all, sleep. But unfortunately the best cure for the common cold in toddlers is, simply put, time.
