Geoffery

Geoffery is a variant of Geoffrey, originating from the Old French Geuffroi. This name may be derived from the Old High German words gewi, meaning "district," and fridu, meaning "peace.” Introduced to England during the Norman Conquest, Geoffrey quickly became associated with medieval writers and high-ranking men in society. While Jeffrey became a more popular respelling in the 20th and 21st centuries, Geoffery is a nod toward the traditional roots of this classic name. Though not widely used, Geoffery has notable appearances, such as Geoffery Antony, the executive producer of visual effects for the groundbreaking 2019 film 1917.
