Jairus

Jairus is a boy's name and the Greek form of the Hebrew Jair, meaning “he shines,” “one giving light,” or "he enlightens." In the New Testament, Jairus is a temple leader in his community. To try to help his daughter, who was ill, Jairus begged Jesus for help and to heal her. Sadly, his daughter passed away while they were making their way to Jairus' home, but Jesus resurrected her, showing love and mercy.
