Makarios

With Greek origins, Makarios is a boy’s name with the charming meaning of “blessed.” In ancient Greece, the locals would often describe the gods of Mount Olympus as Makarios. This is because they quite literally lived a blessed life of lounging around and enjoying all of their godly privileges. Makarios was also the name of the first president of Cyprus, Makarios III, who entered office in August 1960.
