Mosie

Mosie is a boy's name that originated in Hebrew and has the attached meaning of "saviour." The name was popularized in the mid-20th century thanks to the American singer and Baptist minister Mosie Lister. He wrote many original Gospel songs in the 40s, 50s, and 60s that nearly every Southern Gospel artist has since covered. In 1976, Lister was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and 21 years later to the Southern Gospel Music Association.
