Sarima

A name like Sarima will encourage your little one to be eager to learn, quick to try new things, and ever-sure of their brilliance. Though this feminine moniker appears in the first of Gregory Maguire's Wicked novels, it is also a well-established Arabic title. Deriving from the word ṣārim, Sarima means "sharp," "keen," "decisive," and "stern," so don't be surprised if your tiny tot notices just about everything that happens around them! The Wicked novel's plot is slightly different from the musical and films, explaining why we don't see Sarima on the stage or big screen. If you're a fan of the Elphaba and Fiyero love story, you might be a little shocked to hear that Sarima is Fiyero's wife in the novel. They have three children together, but as book readers will know, their story takes an unfortunate turn. Valiantly moving forward in spite of the difficulty she faces, Sarima's determination and tenacity make her name very fitting.
