Selim

Selim is a gender-neutral name of Arabic origin, serving as an emblem of solace and encouragement. Originating as Salīm, Selim means "safe" or "undamaged" and is closely related to Saleem and Salem. Formed from the root salima, "to be safe," Selim may appear a caution against straying off the path. Yet, Selim holds within it the gift of protection. As the personification of safety, baby is free to share it with those who could benefit most, much like their namesake, humanist activist Aliyah Saleem.
