Vardan

Vardan is an Armenian name for boys. With a meaning like “in power,” you know that baby will always know how to take charge and get ahead in life. Your little one can even look up to one of the moniker’s most famous bearers, Vardan Mamikonian. An Armenian military leader who led a rebellion against Sasanian Iran in 450–451, he is cherished as a national hero among his people and venerated as a martyr and a saint. His commemoration day lies in February, and his feast day is celebrated on the last Thursday before Great Lent.
