Balancing motherhood and work is never easy, but it’s especially challenging those first few days back.

TV host and new mom Kelly Osbourne recently opened up on her Instagram about the challenges of returning to work after having her newborn. In a post featuring the reality TV star on her way to her first job since having her baby, Osbourne admitted that leaving her child behind was “one of the hardest things” she has ever had to do.

“I have a newfound respect for working mothers,” she wrote. “This day can’t go by quick enough for me. I can’t wait to have him back in my arms.”

Moms from all over the world responded to the new mom’s post with support. “I cried my first day back at work. I felt so bad for leaving him; but it gets better. Congratulations on the birth of you little boy,” one commentator wrote. Another mom added, “Enjoy your job and enjoy your boy when you get home…Always remember it’s OK for us moms to step away once in awhile for our sanity. Hugs to you!”

The next day, Osbourne shared a photo of her son’s car seat on her Instagram Story, announcing that she was bringing him to work for day two. “I could not leave him again, so it’s bring your #BringYourBabyToWorkDay,” she wrote.

Osbourne’s posts serve as an important reminder that no matter who you are, being a working mom is tough. It’s okay to be open with others about your feelings of sadness and worry when returning to work. With love, support, and flexibility, it’s possible to make it work.

Kelly Osbourne Welcomes Her Baby Boy

Kelly Osbourne is officially a mom—and her mom broke the news!

Sharon Osbourne revealed that her daughter Kelly and her boyfriend Sid Wilson had welcomed a baby boy during an appearance on Britain’s The Talk Tuesday. The TV host said the new parents are doing “so great” and that her daughter had chosen to name her son Sidney, a gender-neutral name meaning wide meadow.

While Sidney’s arrival marks Sharon’s fifth grandchild, Sharon seemed equally as excited as the first time she became a grandma and was bursting at the seams to share the news. “She won’t let a picture go out of him, and I’m so proud of her,” Sharon said of her daughter, who had not yet confirmed the baby’s birth herself.

Shortly after the segment went live, fans began to speculate that Sharon may have gone off-book and revealed the news without her daughter’s permission. On Wednesday, the Dancing with The Stars alum acknowledged her son’s arrival on her Instagram story, “I am not ready to share him with the world. It’s no one’s place but mine to share any information on my baby,” she wrote. While not mentioning her mother specifically, fans believe the subtext was pretty clear.

This isn’t the first time Kelly’s parents have spoiled her pregnancy news either. Despite wanting to keep the sex of her child under wraps until his or her arrival, Kelly told PEOPLE in early October that her dad Ozzy had slipped up.“Well, look, all I will say is that my dad has f——— told everybody,” the first-time mom said. “Because he’s so excited.” Her dad almost ruined the pregnancy announcement itself, with Kelly recalling interviews he did where he dropped hints that could’ve been pierced together.

Ultimately, Kelly did get to share her own pregnancy news, at least. The former Fashion Police host donned a pair of statement glasses while holding a sonogram photo to reveal her pregnancy on Instagram in May 2022. “I am over the moon to announce that I am going to be a Mumma,” Kelly said. “To say I am happy does not quite cut it. I am ecstatic!”

Osbourne’s post was flooded with well-wishes from Hollywood stars like RuPaul’s Drag Race producer Ross Matthews, who said, “You’re gonna be the best mom! So happy for you! Can’t wait to meet your baby.” Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Snooki of Jersey Shore fame also congratulated Osbourne on her news, with Snooki saying, “Omg, Congrats Mawma!”

Even if your parents or in-laws haven’t spilled your baby news or ruined a surprise, it can still be difficult to put boundaries around your relationships during your pregnancy and after baby arrives.
