Wondering how these 50 songs made the cut? PlayLikeMum.com looked at Disney animated films spanning from the 1937 release of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs all the way to films from today, including recent additions to the Disney catalog like Moana and Coco. From there, it took an inventory of Disney songs using a list from ConsequenceOfSound.net. Additional songs were added from films that were released after the list was compiled. Once the list was finalized, the website collected the Spotify play count (songs not available on Spotify were removed from the list) for each song, and then sorted the list by the most played songs to determine which songs were the “favorites.” Click here for more information on PlayLikeMum.com’s system of ranking.
While some films only had a few songs to make the cut, others had multiple melodies ranked throughout the list. Songs from Moana made the most appearances, holding eight spots throughout the top 50. Following in its heels is Frozen, which in addition to the No. 1 spot also shows up four additional times. Songs from Beauty and The Beast, Tangled and The Lion King are all listed on four separate spots on the Spotify playlist.
