Caledon

Caledon is a gender-neutral name derived from Caledonia, the old term for Scotland. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact origin of the name as the Welsh, English, Scottish, and Irish can all put forward a good argument. The Proto-Celtic word kal and Welsh word caled, meaning "hard," provides Caledon's root and is thought to allude to the native people's endurance and steadfastness.
