While swing and jazz’s booming era might be a piece of history now, you can instill the vivacious attitude of the time in your little one. Ellington is a gender-neutral name of English origin. Although the name and its meaning refer to someone from an “old town,” “elf town,” or “eel town,” Ellington is most commonly associated with jazz’s own Duke Ellington. It comes as no surprise that the title rose to fame at the same time as the musician in the early 1920s.
