Kree

The charming name Kree springs from a spelling variation of the gender-neutral Cree. The name Cree comes from a phonetic rendering of the Canadian French word Cris, short for Christinaux, which was used to describe First Nations peoples living in the Hudson and James Bay areas, Alberta, and Great Slave Lake. Kree might also be recognized by Marvel comic books and movie franchise fans as the name of an alien race that raised the badass hero Captain Marvel.
