Princess Marjorie, born on March 2, 1316, was the daughter of Robert the Bruce, the Scottish king, and Isabella of Mar. After her father lost a civil war in Scotland, young Marjorie went into hiding but was ultimately captured and sent to live in solitary confinement in a convent. Eventually released, she married Walter Stewart, who was the Steward of Scotland. They had a child, Robert II, who was born prematurely after Marjorie fell from a horse and died. Her son reigned as king of Scotland from 1371 to 1390.
