Pfannee

For a new student of Shiz University or a new arrival to the world, the gender-neutral name Pfannee is a "thrillifying" choice. In the first act of the ever-popular Wicked musical and the first few minutes of the Wicked: Part 1 movie, we meet Pfannee, a member of Galinda's eager entourage. Though Pfannee is a female character in the musical, Bowen Yang hilariously portrays a male Pfannee in the film adaptation. Along with his sidekick ShenShen, Pfannee lavishes Galinda with praise and encouragement for just about everything she does, including her scheming acts against her roommate, Elphaba. While we know little of Pfannee's story before arriving at Shiz, he is said to come from a place called Phan Hall, likely the inspiration behind his moniker. As your kiddo grows, they'll learn that true friendship looks different from Galinda, Pfannee, and ShenShen's. Instead of mindlessly following a mean crowd or conspiring against others, your Pfannee will bring out the best in their friends and loved ones.
