Elon Musk and Grimes Confirm They Welcomed a Third Baby in Secret

Elon Musk has added another member to his family!

The SpaceX founder and his co-parent Grimes confirmed they secretly welcomed their third baby this week after a biography on Musk written by Walter Isaacson reportedly broke the news on Saturday. Just days after the news leak Musk shared that the two had indeed welcomed a third baby together and that his name was Tau Techno Mechanicus.

Grimes also took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the leak and talk about Techno. “I wish I could show u how cute little Techno is,” she wrote, “but my priority right now is keeping my babies out of the public eye, Please respect that at this time.”

The billionare entrepreneur and the Candian have drawn attention in the past for keeping the details around their children secret and giving their kids rather unorthodox names.

When the 48-year-old businessman first revealed his second child’s name, X Æ A-Xii, fans were pretty sure he was just making a joke. But, with the onslaught of questions from followers, Grimes (whose real name is Claire Boucher), 32, took to X to explain the meaning behind her son’s name.

She explained that the “X” was for “the unknown variable,” the “Æ," was for the “elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence)” and “A-12” was to honor a Lockheed spy plane, which was the 12th attempted design for a project titled “Archangel.”

“(It’s a) precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft),” she wrote. “No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent.” She was likely referring to the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, and Musk was quick to point out her error, replying, ““SR-71, but yes.”

Grimes quickly shot back, “I am recovering from surgery and barely alive so may my typos b forgiven but, damnit,” she said. “That was meant to be profound,” to which Musk replied, “U r a powerful [angel queen].”

Grimes and Musk have been together since 2018 and now share three children together including, 3-year-old X AE A-Xii (“X”), 1-year-old Exa Dark Sideræl (“Y”) and now a newborn Tau Techno Mechanicus. Musk also has six childrean from his previous marriage to Justine Musk.
