Evenflo Recalls 300,000+ Car Seats Due to Potential Choking Hazard
Popular car seat maker Evenflo has issued a voluntary recall of more than 300,000 of its Revolve360 car seats. Here’s what parents need to know.
Why are certain Revolve360 car seats being recalled?
Evenflo has issued a recall for select models of its Revolve360 car seats after several reports of children picking off pieces of foam from the headrest and placing them in their mouth or nose. While no injuries have been reported yet and the foam is nontoxic, the foam can pose a choking hazard to little ones. Evenflo emphasizes that the recall does not affect the safety or integrity of the car seat in the event of a crash.
How do I know if my Evenflo car seat is affected by the recall?
The recall affects select Revolve360 Slim models sold in the US and Canada with model numbers beginning with 3681. You can check your model number by rotating the car seat to a side position and looking for the white label on the back or side showing the model number and manufacturing date.
What should I do if I have a recalled Evenflo car seat?
The good news for parents with recalled Evenflo car seats is that they won’t need to replace them. Evenflo is providing a free repair kit to all owners of recalled car seats. The kit includes easy-to-follow instructions and a special tape seal to cover the foam access points.
While waiting for the remedy kit, parents with a Revolve360 Slim can continue to use the car seat safely as long as their child can’t reach or remove the foam in the headrest. Evenflo expects to ship the recall repair kit in early November. You can register your car seat to ensure you receive the recall repair kit and learn more about the recall by visiting Evenflo.com/Pages/Revolve360-Slim-Recall-U-S-Canada.
