Navigating baby’s care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is tough. The emotional, physical and mental toll is high for parents who just want to bring their healthy baby home. Thankfully, there are hereos who walk among us, making the journey a little easier—NICU nurses.

In celebration of NICU Awareness Month, baby gear company 4moms has partnered with NICU nonprofit Project Sweet Peas to recognize the extraordinary contributions of hardworking NICU nurses nationwide.

Now through September 30, patients, coworkers, friends and family members can nominate the NICU nurse in their life who goes above and beyond to care for NICU babies and their families.

4moms and Project Sweet Peas will evaluate nominees based on their submission stories (the passion of the nominators, accomplishments of the nurse, need for MamaRoo Swings) and the number of times a nurse is nominated.

The winner will receive a $4,000 care package from 4moms and partner brands, along with five new MamaRoo Multi-Motion Baby Swings for their hospital. The next ten runners-up will take home a swag box, along with five brand new MamaRoo Swings for each of their hospitals. The MamaRoo baby swing is used in over 600 hospitals to simulate a natural bouncing and swaying motion. Doctors and nurses praise it as a valuable tool to safely soothe baby when their families can’t be there.

“We are so happy to once again partner with 4moms—this year to support and honor NICU nurses,” said Corin Nava, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Project Sweet Peas in a press release. “The MamaRoo is a favorite with NICU nurses, and over the last six years, we’ve been able to donate hundreds of MamaRoo Swings to various NICU and PICU units. We’re looking forward to helping even more nurses, babies, and families.”
