Rihanna Posts Sweet Tribute for Her Mom Ahead of Welcoming Baby
Rihanna’s pregnancy announcement took the internet by a storm. Now she’s opening up about how her pregnancy is helping her better understand her own mom’s sacrifices.
The singer posted a heartwarming birthday tribute to her mom Monica Braithwaite on April 6, sharing a throwback photo of the two sporting white dresses. “Today is my Queen’s birthday!!!” Rihanna wrote. “Being on the verge of motherhood, unlocked new levels of love and respect I have for my mommy in a way that I could never explain! She’s the true MVP and I wanna give her her flowers every second I can! Love you mumzzzz!!! Happy Birthday! We gon celebrate on da link up!”
While Rihanna has previously kept her family life out of the spotlight, she opened up about her relationship with her mom on The Oprah Winfrey Show back in 2012. During the episode she gifted her mother with a home in Barbados, where the pair is originally from.
Rihanna is currently expecting her first child with partner ASAP Rocky.
