Elkanah

In the Book of Samuel in the Torah and Old Testament, Elkanah was the husband of Hannah and the father of her first son, Samuel. This Hebrew boy's name is an alternative way of spelling Elqānāh. It means "God has purchased" or “God has created,” and comes from the words el, meaning "God," and qaneh, which means "to acquire."
