Origin:Welsh
Meaning:valley of water
This Welsh name not only means "valley of water" but also has a melodic, lyrical sound, not unlike a gentle stream. Glyndwr was the surname of Owain Glyndwr, a medieval Welsh patriot who led Wales' last major attempt to get out from under English rule with a long war of independence. He formed the first Welsh parliament and, after his death, he became a sort of mythical hero who was waiting for a call to return and free his people. With a figure like this to look up to, baby can be encouraged to fight for what he believes in and not give up.
