Why Nick Jonas Plans to Celebrate His Wife on Father's Day

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and the stars, like us, are gearing up for the celebrations.

During the premiere of his new film The Good Half pop singer Nick Jonas chatted about his nontraditional plans to shine the spotlight on his wife this year. “We as fathers would not be where we are as fathers without incredible women to make that dream come true,” he told People. “And I’m so grateful to share this journey with my wife, who’s just an absolute boss and amazing mother."

“It’s more about her that day than me,” he said. The idea of shifting the focus of Father’s Day to his wife is something Jonas said he got from his dad. “My dad did an incredible job of making sure that everyone else felt loved on Father’s Day, and I’m going to try to adopt that from him,” he said.

Jonas and Chopra welcomed their daughter Malti on January 15 via surrogate. Amid criticism from others for using a surrogate, the husband and wife duo remained strong and confident about their choice. "My husband is my greatest champion,” Chopra told People in March. “My family is my greatest, greatest strength.”

Last year, Chopra made a post honoring her husband on his first Father’s Day. “Happy 1st Father’s Day my love. To watch you with our little girl is my greatest joy…what an amazing day to come back home… I love you… here’s to many more,” she wrote
