Publix Recalls GreenWise Baby Food Over Lead Contamination Risk
Publix is a staple for families, whether you’re picking up fresh produce, pantry essentials or “pub sub.” But if you’ve got GreenWise Pear, Kiwi, Spinach & Pea Baby Food in your pantry, it’s time to take a closer look.
Publix has voluntarily recalled its GreenWise Pear, Kiwi, Spinach & Pea Baby Food due to concerns about elevated lead levels. The recalled baby food comes in 4-ounce plastic pouches and carries the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) 41415-00901. The “Best If Used By” date is November 1, 2025. This recall affects Publix stores across eight states: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky.
While the recall is a precautionary measure following routine sampling, lead exposure is especially concerning for infants, as it can lead to developmental delays and other health risks. As part of their commitment to safety, Publix has already removed the affected items from store shelves.
If you’ve purchased the recalled baby food, you can return it to your local Publix for a full refund. For more information or if you have any concerns, you can reach Publix customer care at 1-800-242-1227 or visit their website at Publix.com. If you’re concerned that your little one may have eaten the recalled baby food, don’t hesitate to reach out to your pediatrician for testing, reassurance and guidance.
