Will baby grow to be stubborn, shy or outgoing? If you believe in astrology, it’s all written in the stars. Dabney Oliver, founder of AstroCutie.com, gives us the scoop on what kind of personality baby will have, according to their zodiac sign.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Aquarius babies are spontaneous—you never know what they’ll get up to next. “You’ll be surprised at the things that make them laugh. They always do things that are unexpected,” Oliver says. “They may like different foods or march to the beat of their own drum in other ways.” Make sure you encourage and foster their individuality. If they want to play with a certain toy that’s a surprising choice, as long as it’s safe, let them do it.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

“Pisces babies are dreamers,” Oliver says. “Play soft music and read to them a lot.” Pisces babies are also great sleepers. Create a soothing mood for them with a white noise machine, or decorate with an ocean theme in the nursery.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

If you’ve got a little ram in the house, you’ll need a lot of energy to keep up with them. “Your baby is going to keep you on your toes,” Oliver says. “Aries babies are very adventurous. You’ll need to baby-proof your house really well because they’re very mobile and love to roam all over the place.”

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Taurus babies are known to be a little stubborn—but that’s just because they like consistency. “They get fussy when their routines are broken,” Oliver explains. “A good trick is to help them take naps at regular times each day.” You can also make sure your Taurus baby has a set feeding and playtime routine.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

“Introduce your child to baby sign language, because they get frustrated if they can’t communicate,” Oliver says. Gemini babies love to learn, and they’re like sponges, so make sure you foster their intelligence by playing word games and doing activities that promote critical thinking.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Cancer babies are very sensitive, which is important to keep in mind when you’re bonding with your child. “They’re going to have a very strong bond with mom, and they need to spend a lot of quality time with her,” Oliver says. “Don’t be afraid to let them be a ‘mama’s boy or girl.’ It’s okay to indulge them.” Also, cancer babies are homebodies, so you’ll want to spend plenty of time with baby around the house. Make sure you create a peaceful household and avoid whisking baby from place to place too much.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

Get ready for loads of smiles! Leo babies have a great sense of humor and the best grins. “They’re the baby everyone is drawn to,” Oliver says. “Play with your Leo baby a lot—have a running joke with them or experiment with what makes them laugh. Take them to a music class or get them a drum, tambourine or maraca. Leos love music.”

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Like Taurus babies, Virgos need routine and they like things a certain way. “Virgo babies are always paying attention and always trying to figure things out,” Oliver says. “When you’re doing something, explain it to them. Walk them through it so they’re prepared, because they want to know what’s coming up.”

Libra (September 23-October 22)

Libras are the social butterflies of the zodiac. They love to make friends. “Get them involved with a mommy-and-me playgroup and expose them to other babies at a young age,” Oliver recommends. “Allow them to test out their sociability.”

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Scorpios are known to take things seriously and give it their all. “Everything they do, they do it with gusto. They’re very intense with their emotions,” Oliver says. That means when baby isn’t happy, they’ll really let you know. “When they’re on the changing table or doing something where they’re exposed to something new, they’re likely to get fussy. Make eye contact with them so they stay grounded and connected to you,” she recommends.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

Sagittarius babies always want to be doing something—they can’t sit still. “They enjoy going on little road trips or going to the park and getting some fresh air,” Oliver says. “Don’t keep them at home all day, because they crave adventure. They want to learn things experientially.” Also, since baby’s really active, make sure they’re careful around your pets. Your little one will be really attracted to them, so you’ll have to monitor to ensure your child and pet get along.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Capricorn babies are achievers. “They want to do things before other babies do, like crawling or talking,” Oliver says. “They can get annoyed if their physical development hasn’t caught up with their mental development. So encourage them to make those big leaps, but be patient when they’re frustrated.”
