Demetrius

Demetrius, a Greek boy's name, means "of Demeter" or “dedicated to Demeter.” Demeter was the Greek goddess of agriculture, grain, and bread, whose own title signifies “earth mother.” She was also Persephone's mother and would disappear every year when her daughter had to stay in the underworld. This diversion would put an end to growth and the harvest and cause famine for her people.
