Francisco

Though it was the first name of notorious dictator Franco, who ruled Spain for more than 30 years in the mid-20th century, Francisco gets high marks from modern Spanish and Portuguese parents, as well as American moms and dads. It originated from Francis, which comes from the Latin word meaning "French, Frenchman." St. Francis of Assisi put a positive spin on the name, as do baseball players Francisco Lindor and Francisco Cervelli.
