Onox

Onox is a gender-neutral name with elusive roots, likely inspired by the English “onyx.” Famed for being a black precious stone often with white bands, the word “onyx” is originally Greek and means “claw,” “talon,” or “nail.” Some sources mention Onox in Native American history, borne by the father of Chief Katonah. Its translation remains somewhat of a mystery for now, but in the meantime, baby Onox can forge a definition of their own.
