This Mom's Description of Baby's Movements During Pregnancy Is Spot on
For many, there’s nothing more magical than feeling a baby’s first movement during pregnancy. The sensation—surely unlike anything you’ve experienced before—is part magical, part strange and everything in between. For years, people have tried to put the feeling into words, but the comparisons often fall flat. That is, until a new viral sensation came along.
Kat (@mmkayy), a mom to a newborn baby boy, recently shared what many are calling the most accurate analogy for what it feels like when your baby moves inside you. “I had a coworker ask me, ‘What does it feel like?’” she says in the now-viral video, initially admitting she struggled to explain it. After a little time, she had come up with the perfect analogy.
“It kind of feels like when you put your hand on your cheek and then you move your tongue. The feeling on your hand is what it feels like,” she shared. “Babies don’t move all crazy… just do a slow but firm tongue movement,” she continues. “And just think about what your hand is feeling, that’s what it feels like.”
In the comments, parents were taken aback by how relatable and real the feeling was. “This is so accurate, I just got nostalgic,” one parent shared. Another joked, “This makes me want to be pregnant again. I’m suing you.” Others were a little thrown off and amused by the analogy. “The way you’ve got a few hundred thousand people pressing their hands on their faces and wiggling their tongues against it. You hold a lot of power, ma’am,” another viewer added. “You deserve a medal—best description I’ve ever heard,” one parent chimed in.
