Mom Serves Up 'Organic' Dinner in Hysterically Relatable Post
Whether you spend your evenings feeding and bathing baby or shuffling your big kids back and forth from soccer practice, the daily life of a mom is anything but boring. By the time you finally have a second to breath, it’s time to put dinner on the table—which leaves little time to whip up a gourmet meal for your family.
It’s a reality mom Bunmi Laditan knows all too well. So she turned to Facebook to document the “organic” meal she made for her kids in a hilarious tongue-in-cheek post. On the menu? Fried chicken, french fries and unpeeled carrots.
“Dinner tonight is maybe free-range, possibly organic chicken, gently cooked in canola essential oils with hearty Irish potato spears and served alongside fresh, unwashed (preserves the trace minerals) root vegetables naturally fortified with beta carotene and good intentions,” she jokes. “For dessert, the children will search ‘chocolate cake’ in Google images and use their imaginations.”
Finding the time to put together a meal is hard; making a meal everyone will actually eat is even harder. So when Laditan opted for a quick and easy dinner, 1,000 people commiserated over the struggle in the comments section.
“Tonight for dinner my daughter had legume pate and fresh fruit preserve sandwiches with crispy potato medallions (Pb&j with chips),” one mom shares.
“How many days can cereal be dinner before CPS is called? Asking for a friend,” says another.
Another mom adds, “Tonight my daughter ate frozen chocolate chip pancakes that were perfectly preserved with organic, gluten-free ice crystals from some fancy river in a magical place.”
Clearly, Laditan isn’t alone. If you find yourself short on time, try out a few of these hectic-mom-friendly meals to help you throw together a tasty, kid-appropriate dinner fast.
