Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Have Welcomed Baby No. 4
Hollywood’s golden couple, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, have welcomed their fourth child!
While the tight-lipped duo hasn’t released an official statement announcing the birth or details about baby No. 4, Lively surprised friends and fans on Super Bowl Sunday when she posted a photo revealing she no longer had a baby bump. “Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023, been busy,” she simply wrote.
Congratulations immediately poured in for Lively and Reynolds. “Epic post! For all the reasons!!!” wrote Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld. Another user speculated that Lively had given birth to a girl based on a photo featuring her pink fingernail polish. “Labor and delivery nurse here and a lot of my patients get pink nail polish for a girl…Another girl, maybe?! Whatever baby is congrats on 4th baby and you look amazing!”
The dad of three daughters, James, 7, Inez, 5 and Betty, 2, you would think Reynolds would welcome some testosterone into the house—but it turns out the Deadpool actor is a “Girl Dad” through and through.
While on the Today Show Monday promoting his upcoming Christmas musical comedy Spirited, the 46-year-old actor opened up about baby no. 4 and his hopes for another girl.
“I know girls, so I’m kind of hoping that,” said Reynolds. The actor noted that he and Lively “don’t know” the sex of their fourth child on the way and “never find out 'til [they’re born].”
His desire to have another girl comes from “experience,” Reynolds told anchors Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, both as a father to three girls and as as youngest of three brothers himself. “I love my well-being and my home,” he joked, teasing his siblings “were just arsonists and firemen.”
Still, Guthrie dubbed Reynolds “the ultimate girl dad” — a title Reynolds accepted with a “Yes.”
The couple’s happy news was first reported by TMZ on Thursday, September 15, after Lively was spotted sporting a baby bump at the 10th Annual Forbes Power Women’s Summit. She wore a long-sleeve, sequined dress and stopped for photographs on the red carpet.
Both Reynolds and Lively have been open about how they balance their careers with parenting. In December 2021, Reynolds opened up about his desire to step back from acting for a bit to spend more time with his daughters, adding that it’s been harder to balance everyone’s schedule as the kids get older. “Now that they’re in school, they have a somewhat normal schedule,” Reynolds told People at the time. “I think it’s totally important for their development and I really enjoy being a present dad.”
Congratulations to the happy family of six!
