Here's What It's Like to Buy Pads as a Mom
Sherrie Kimber would probably like to forget the time her son made a huge deal about the pads she was purchasing in the checkout line. But she can’t—because she shared the story a year ago and Facebook made it a point to remind her with its “On This Day” feature. Now that it’s going viral, one thing’s for sure: The topic of kids mortifying their parents is an evergreen one.
Here’s what happened, in Kimber’s words.
“I had to make a quick run to the store,” she says. “As I came to the ‘lady aisle’ I quickly grabbed a package of Always, and Carson insisted on carrying it.”
Yeah, this isn’t going to end well.
“We proceeded to the checkout and I quickly placed everything else I needed on the checkout counter and turned to Carson,” she says, explaining she asked him to place the pads on the belt. “Then he turned to the man behind us and said as loud as he could, ‘These are MOMMY’S DIAPERS!’ Then proudly placed them on the checkout counter.”
And for the grand finale of Carson’s show:
“As the man tried to contain his laughter, as well as everyone around, Carson then turned to me and said, ‘Mommy, don’t pee in them; you pee in the potty!’ Then everyone around lost it.”
While this may be the embarrassing Carson story that’s going viral, it’s probably not even Kimber’s most embarrassing Carson story. In fact, two days after Facebook resurfaced the Always memory, Kimber shared another Facebook memory involving Carson and a different public potty-related incident.
We swear having kids is worth it!
