Whether you are dealing with the school’s out summer madness, prepping for an elaborate first birthday party or trying to convince your toddler to try just one vegetable, as a parent you’ve likely run into some things this week, month or year that you are completely and totally done with.

In a new viral trend entitled #MamasDone the Today show’s Jenna Bush Hager, Hoda Kotb and hundreds of other parents are calling attention to all the frustrating, irritating and nonsensical things that parents are tired of and through participating in. “So I had a birthday party for Mila with 14 kids at a water park. I accidentally lost one of the children, and it brought me to the realization that I’m done. I’m done with water parks. I’ve done them, and they are over,” Bush Hager explained in an Instagram Reel.

Along with her waterpark struggles Hager made note of other things her daily show cohost was “done with” too, from kids pushing back on bedtime to claiming they don’t like the same food they loved yesterday. “If you are finished with something you can just hide in the pantry like I do with the string cheese. And I wonder what are you done with?” Hager asked.

In the comments, moms replied in droves with things they were done with. “Done with the themed days at school. Wear a shirt with words, crazy socks, tie-dyed, team day- I’m DONE,” wrote one mom. “Elf on the shelf, leprechaun traps, elaborate sports snack, and other ‘made up’ stress the parent adventures,” added another. “I’m done with party favors. If I have said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: THE PARTY IS THE FAVOR,” one parent emphatically stressed. “I’m done with my kids LOVING a certain snack so I go buy it in bulk and then the next day they don’t like it anymore,” chimed in another.

Celebrities and other on-air personalities also added in the comments what things they were done with. “Mama’s done with germy children’s museums and indoor play places,” wrote HGTV star Erin Napier. “I am done with overdone birthday parties! Back to boxed cake and the backyard,” added cookbook author and Good Morning America guest Dina Deleasa-Gonsar.

From scratching up something for dinner every night, to doing the chores and holding a million bags on every vacation, and being the go-to emotional support, the list of responsibilities that are often unfairly and unevenly assigned by default to mom racks up quickly, and well moms are clearly done.

Whether you are a soon-to-be parent, a new parent or a seasoned pro, it’s important to remember to spread those responsibilities around sharing them with your partner, family, village and your children themselves.
