Dez

Dez is a variant form in a long lineage of the name Desmond. Desmond is an Anglicization of the Irish Deasmhumhain, which refers to one of the ancient kingdoms of Ireland. This kingdom name in English means "South Munster," and would eventually become a surname. But as time went on, the name changed spellings and grew nicknames, eventually creating the shortened forms of Des and Dez that are now rockin' their standalone status.
