Li

Often romanticized as Lee, Li is an enduring masculine name both within Chinese and western culture. While a common surname in Asia, Li's counterpart has made more of a splash on the pop culture scene between the martial arts of Bruce Lee and the comic book creations of Stan Lee. This is perhaps unsurprising when one digs deep into the multiple hanjas that vie to form Li's origins. As lǐ, Li embodies "reason" and "logic," while lì instills measures of "power" and "capability" that made many of its namesakes so successful. Alternatively, Li may also mean "beautiful" by virtue of the feminine lì, which baby is sure to display inside and out.
