KidKraft Farm to Table Play Kitchens Have Been Recalled
In partnership with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Backyard Kids has announced the recall of all KidKraft Farm to Table Play Kitchens. Here’s what parents need to know.
Why Are These Fisher-Price Toys Being Recalled?
Backyard Kids, LLC, announced the recall of around 192,000 KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchens due to strangulation hazards. The hooks used to hold kitchen accessories on the back of the model kitchen pose a risk of serious injury or death to young children who may climb on the counter or crawl through the opening in the back of the play kitchens and get their clothing caught on the hooks. The recall comes after a 23-month-old in Oregon tragically died from strangulation and asphyxia when his shirt got caught on one of the hooks, and he was unable to rescue himself.
How do I know if my product is affected by the recall?
All KidKraft Farm to Table Play Kitchens have been affected by the recall. The play kitchen is primarily black and light gray with wood-like countertops. The model number 53411 is on a sticker on the back of the play kitchen. The play kitchens were sold online at KidKraft.com, Amazon.com and Walmart.com from 2018 through July 2025 for between $120 and $270.
What should I do if my product is recalled?
If you have a KidKraft Farm to Table Play Kitchen, stop using it immediately and remove the original hooks. KidKraft, Inc. filed for bankruptcy in May 2024 and was bought by Backyard Kids, which has agreed to provide free replacement hooks to all consumers with affected products. You can find instructions for requesting free replacement hooks and more about the recall at KidKraft.com.
