Little Remedies Honey Cough Syrup Recalled
It may be summer, but for parents, a cough, cold or mysterious camp or daycare bug can strike at any time. Before you reach for your go-to cough medicine, though, it’s worth taking a closer look at the label.
Little Remedies Honey Cough Syrup has been recalled following testing by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that revealed the presence of Bacillus cereus and a loss of shelf-stability among several lots of the popular cough syrup. According to the FDA, Bacillus cereus is a bacteria that can cause two types of foodborne illness, resulting in symptoms ranging from nausea and vomiting to stomach cramps and diarrhea.
While no illnesses have been reported in conjunction with the cough medicine, Medtech Products, the maker of Little Remedies, has recalled all non-expired batches of its Honey Cough Syrup out of caution. The affected lots were distributed throughout the US from 12/14/2022 through 06/04/2025 and have the following lot numbers on the bottle label and bottom of the carton.
- Lot 0039 – Expires 11/2025
- Lot 0545 – Expires 01/2026
- Lot 0640 – Expires 02/2026
- Lot 0450 – Expires 05/2026
- Lot 1198 – Expires 12/2026
Those with recalled products are advised to throw out the cough syrup immediately. If your child has experienced any problems or illness related to the product, don’t hesitate to reach out to your pediatrician. Parents can request a refund for the medicine and contact Medtech regarding any questions PrestigeBrands.com.
