Parents should feel confident in knowing their child is safe in their crib. But what about when the crib poses a danger? While advancements have been made over the past couple of years to increase the safety of cribs, whether that be narrowing slats or kicking crib bumpers to the curb, there are still a few safety issues that can slip through the cracks. Working with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Crate & Barrel recently issued a recall for its Hampshire Crib after discovering an issue with its mattress support pins could pose a risk to baby. Learn more about the recall below.

Why Is Crate & Barrel Recalling its Hampshire Cribs?

According to the CPSC recall Crate & Barrel has decided to recall over 3,200 Hampshire cribs after dicsovering an issue with the crib’s mattress support pins. The pins can come loose and allow the mattress to fall, posing a fall hazard to children. So far, the company has received 12 reports of incidents of the mattress support pins becoming loose. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported in conjunction with these reports.

How Do I Know If My Crib is Affected By The Recall?

Crate & Barrel has committed to getting in contact with all parties who have bought affected cribs, but if your email inbox is a mess or you would simply like to check yourself, you can check the SKU number on a label located on the mattress support board.
