Purchasing power is real, especially on Giving Tuesday. Created in 2012 by the 92Y, the mission of today is to help build a kinder world. While it’s grown into a global phenomenon, the heart of the mission remains as simple as promoting generosity. “Our mission is to build a more just and generous world,” their website reads. “Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.”

Even past today, the mission of celebrating generosity is one that’s great to keep in mind as we close out 2022. As you check off your shopping list this holiday, consider shopping at a retailer who supports an organization or charity that helps those in need. Your friends and family will end up with a great gift, and some lives will be touched along the way.

If you are shopping today, consider shopping at brands and retailers that promise to give back with each purchase, such as Target (Feeding America), Pampers (Unicef), Carter’s (Pajama Program), Mustela (Every Mother Counts), Hedley & Bennett (World Central Kitchen), Coterie (Baby2Baby) and many, many more.

In case you wrapped up your holiday shopping over the weekend, we’ve included some amazing organizations that directly benefit babies and children—make a donation today and change tomorrow.
